Ipagkakatiwala na raw ng Metro Manila LGUs ang lockdown decisions sa IATF para sa pagtatapos ng ECQ ngayong August 20

Ipinaaalam ni Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles na ang durasyon at magiging quarantine measures sa pagtatapos ng Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) ay nakasalalay sa bilang ng COVID-19 cases at sa progress ng vaccination drive.

Nagbigay ito ng assurance na ang IATF ay patuloy na nagmo-monitor sa statistics at vaccination rollout, at na, “We’ll take it one day at a time but also be mindful of the end of ECQ.”

Habang ang samahan ng Metro Manila Council (MMC) ay nagdesisyong ipagliban ang susunod na community quarantine classification sa IATF for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Pahayag ni MMDA Chairman Benhamin Abalos, “The LGUs are at the forefront and they know what is really happening on the ground but we have to weigh both economic and health factors in our decision.”

Idinagdag pa nito na, “We deem it best to leave the decision to the wisdom and judgment of the IATF.”
